Product Care Instructions

Hardwood Cutting Boards

Daily Care:

  • Clean after each use: Wipe off food debris and wash with warm water and a small amount of mild dish soap.

  • Avoid soaking: Never submerge in water or put in the dishwasher—this causes warping or cracking.

  • Dry thoroughly: Pat dry with a towel and stand it upright to air dry completely.

Deep Cleaning & Maintenance:

  • Sanitise occasionally: Use a solution of 1 tbsp white vinegar to 1 cup water or wipe with diluted hydrogen peroxide.

Deodorize: Rub with coarse salt and half a lemon, let sit 5 minutes, and rinse.

  • Oil monthly: Use food-grade mineral oil (or beeswax-based cream) to prevent drying and cracking. Apply a generous coat, let sit overnight, then wipe off excess.

General Candle Holder Care Tips

Remove Wax Residue:

  • Freeze Method: Place the holder in the freezer for a few hours. Hardened wax will shrink and pop out easily.

  • Warm Water Method: Soak in warm (not boiling) water to soften wax, then scrape gently with a plastic utensil.

  • Hair Dryer: Use gentle heat to melt wax and wipe it away with paper towels.

Avoid Open Flame Contact:

  • Always trim wicks to ¼ inch to reduce excessive flame or soot.

  • Use candles in proper size and type for the holder to avoid overheating or breakage.

Never Leave Burning Candles Unattended.

🪵 Care Instructions for Oil & Beeswax Finished Wood Products

Daily Cleaning

  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth after use.

  • Mild soap only if needed, and rinse quickly—avoid soaking or scrubbing aggressively.

  • Dry immediately with a towel to prevent water damage or warping.

Avoid

  • Dishwashers – the heat, water, and detergent will strip the finish and damage the wood.

  • Soaking in water or letting sit wet.

  • Harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which remove the protective oil/wax layer.

🧴 Regular Maintenance

To keep the wood nourished and protected:

🌿 Reapply Oil & Beeswax Finish

  • Frequency: Every 3–6 weeks, or when the wood looks dry or dull.

  • How to apply:

    1. Clean and let dry completely.

    2. Rub a thin layer of food-grade mineral oil and/or beeswax finish into the wood using a lint-free cloth.

    3. Let sit for a few hours or overnight.

    4. Buff off any excess with a clean, dry cloth.

You can buy a premade beeswax and oil conditioner or make your own by melting beeswax into mineral or coconut oil.

🌡️ Storage Tips

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat vents or direct sunlight.

  • Keep out of extreme humidity to avoid swelling or cracking.
